Parks & Recreation

Greenwich has acres of parks and recreational sites available for its residents. Golf, Tennis, Lawn Bowling, Croquet and other decorous sports are all available, along with the more traditional baseball, softball and soccer.

North Street Park

The Town of Greenwich maintains this 297 acre parcel in its natural state. Trails are well marked and allow for hiking and cross-country skiing across and through ponds, steams and meadows. Open daily during daylight hours. Picnic area and free parking.

Bible Street Park

Bible Street Park is a neighborhood park with athletic fields, a tennis court, and a playground. It is within walking distance of Cos Cob school, Cos Cob Community Center and the Montgomery Pinetum.

Bruce Park

Bruce Park contains something for everyone. A picnic area, playground, fitness trail and bowling green are joined by athletic fields, three tennis courts and a pond.

Binney Park

Binney Park is the home of one of two annual Forth of July fireworks displays in Greenwich. This park features a playground, four tennis courts, athletic fields and lovely walking paths around the pond.

Christiano Park

Picnic areas, a playground, two tennis courts and athletic fields make Christiano Park a well-used neighborhood facility. It is within walking distance to Hamilton Avenue Elementary School.

Greenwich Common / Havemeyer Park

Additional walking entrance on Greenwich Avenue. In the center of town, Greenwich Common / Havemeyer Park is a great place to enjoy lunch of a walk after shopping on Greenwich Ave. Lunchtime concerts are held periodically during the summer. This park also features athletic fields, a playground and a running track.

Loughlin Park

Loughlin Park is a neighborhood park within walking distance of central Cos Cob's shopping district. This park contains athletic fields, a playground and two tennis and two platform tennis courts.

Mianus River Park

Pemberwick Park

Forty-four acres divided between tennis courts and playgrounds and two natural areas featuring meadows, cattail marshes and the woods.

Montgomery Pinetum

Almost 100 varieties of conifers planted by Colonial Robert Montgomery are spread through this 62 acre park. Pinetum also has hiking trails, a garden center, library, an ice skating rink and a picnic area.

Roger Sherman Baldwin Park

Feel the breeze of the Long Island Sound while listening to the free summer concerts on Wednesday evenings during July and August. Ample parking for the park, with the Island Beach Ferry nearby.

Dorthy Hamill Skating Rink

This fully enclosed facility offers a wide variety of winter programs including group lessons, hockey clinics, youth and men's hockey leagues, a Town-wide Figure Skating Competition, general skating sessions and more. The rink has completed renovations to improve user comfort, safety and accessibility.

The civic center is home to numerous indoor and outdoor events, including antique shows, coin shows, and the wonderful Enchanted Forest sponsored by the Junior League. Indoor sports such as basketball are also available there.
