The Town of Greenwich is well-served by the Greenwich Hospital, a major academic affiliate of Yale University School of Medicine and a member of the Yale New Haven Health System. The 174-bed community hospital opened in 1903 and has since evolved into a progressive medical center and teaching institution with an internal medicine residency serving lower Fairfield County in Connecticut and Westchester County in New York.
